๐ŸŸKanyakumari  style Meen curry (Fish Curry)



## Kanyakumari Style Meen curry (Local Fish Curry)method This is a traditional coastal type meen curry. Taste will be very good .

Ingredients.

* Fish – 1/2 kg * Tamarind – small lemon size * Big Onion – 1 * Tomato – 1 * Garlic – 4 to 6 (chopped) * Ginger – one little piece( chopped) * Curry leaves – few * Coconut oil – 3 table spoon

# Spice Powders.

* Redchilli powder – 2 spoons * Coriander powder – 1½ spoons * Turmeric powder – ½ spoon * Black pepper powder – ½ spoon (optional but local people add) * Salt – as needed ### For Grinding * Grated coconut – ½ cup * Fennel seeds – 1 spoon * Small onion – 4 to 5 Grind and add some little water to smooth paste. ---

Methods :

1.heat the oil and add curry leaves, garlic(chopped) ,ginger (chopped)
2. Add chopped onion .
3.Add tomato and cook till oil comes out.
4.Add all spice powders and mix well in low flame.
5.Pour tamarind water, add salt and let it boil well.
6. Add ground coconut paste and mix with your hands..it will give additional taste..
7. When gravy boils nicely, add fish pieces carefully.
8.Cook in medium flame for 10–15 minutes**. Do not stir too much.
9.Switch off stove and rest for 10 minutes. ---
